“Deeply hued, this is an amazing Pinot Noir that shows off the richness and depth of the 2009 vintage in California. The aromas and flavors come in waves of raspberry, blueberry, cranberry sauce, cinnamon spice, white chocolate and anise. The plush, velvety mouthfeel is seductive, and the spiced berry fruit lingers. This wine — crafted from grapes grown in three small blocks within the Hyde Vineyard in the Carneros AVA — can hold its own with a variety of foods, from roast duck and game to salmon and seared rare ahi tuna.” - Glen Fredericksen

“Good deep red. Perfumed nose and palate offer strawberry, cola, mocha and underbrush, plus a lightlycaramelized quality; lots of soil character here. At once sweet and energetic, with a lovely light touchcontributing to the impression of a lift. A very graceful, juicy and expressive pinot with excellent definition. With all the attention being paid these days to the Sonoma Coast and points north, it’s too easy to forget about the best pinot noir sites of Carneros.” - Stephen Tanzer

“Fresh, intense and vibrant, with snappy wild berry and raspberry fruit. Full-bodied, tight and focused, ending with a long, persistent, berry-laced finish. Drink now through 2020.”—J.L

“Tight, compact and concentrated, this is full-bodied and built around firm blackberry and wild berry fruit that’s framed by taut tannins. Needs time to unwind, but ends with a huckleberry note on the long, persistent finish.” - James Laube

“Another outstanding effort is the 2007 Pinot Noir Hyde Vineyard. Its dark ruby color is followed by scents of damp earth, spice box, licorice, white chocolate, black cherries, and raspberries. Medium to full-bodied with tart, fresh acids, and a long finish, it can be enjoyed over the next 5-7 years.” - Robert Parker
