“Good bright, dark red. Captivating, nuanced nose offers pomegranate, cherry, spices, lavender and loamy underbrush. Silky and vibrant on entry, then dense but light on its feet, with very pure, youthfully taut flavors of berries, herbs and licorice. Nicely dry and energetic wine with a bright, perfumed finish supported by a fine dusting of tannins. This has the stuffing and structure to evolve gracefully in bottle. I like this style.”

(from a cool, gravelly one-hectare vineyard near Hyde, purchased by James Hall and Anne Moses in 1999; this fruit previously went into Patz & Hall's Sonoma Coast blend):  "Good bright ruby-red.  Captivating aromas of raspberry, black tea, sassafras, earth, graphite and flowers.  Rich, sweet and intense..." - Stephen Tanzer

"Wonderful aromas of fresh loamy earth, rich dark berry and black cherry lead to roasted herb, black licorice and dried flowers on the palate. Pure and persistent, this is long on the finish. Drink now through 2021. 147 cases made." —J.L.
