The 2002 Alder Springs Vineyard Mendocino Pinot Noir is dark, ruby red with aromas of cola, black cherry, violets, licorice and sandalwood. The flavors are ripe and well structured with sweet black cherry and cassis, and a distinctive violet and blueberry-spice note. This is a rich, full bodied wine with plenty of stuffing, revealing a rich mouth-feel with ripe tannins and a long lasting oriental-spiced finish.
