Hyde Vineyard

2007 Carneros Pinot Noir

From its startling blue-garnet hue onwards, this is a singular and profound expression of Pinot Noir that embodies all the reasons why Hyde has earned its reputation as one of California’s grand cru vineyards. Bringing together concentration and graceful complexity, the 2007 vintage is big and rich with a palate of soft, coating tannins, while still displaying elegant acid balance, a core of minerality and a lithe, vibrant charm. Seductive aromas of cherry, kirsch and bittersweet chocolate, segue to red fruit flavors of raspberry, cranberry and framboise, with hints of char and cocoa.

Accolades

  • 92 Points | “Tight, compact and concentrated, this is full-bodied and built around firm blackberryand wild berry fruit that’s framed by taut tannins. Needs time to unwind, but ends witha huckleberry note on the long, persistent finish.” - James Laube
  • 90 Points | “Another outstanding effort is the 2007 Pinot Noir Hyde Vineyard. Its dark ruby color is followed by scents of damp earth, spice box, licorice, white chocolate, black cherries, and raspberries. Medium to full-bodied with tart, fresh acids, and a long finish, it can be enjoyed over the next 5-7 years.” - Robert Parker
