Pinot Noir

Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

2006 - This beautiful wine blends a selection of fruit from small, family owned vineyard sites from Sonoma Coast, Green Valley, Sonoma Valley and Russian River Valley . Some of Sonoma's most distinguished viticulturists and vineyard owners provide fruit for this complex blend, including the Dutton Brothers, the Martinelli family, Charlie Chenoweth and Steve Hill. Reflecting its Sonoma Coast origins and the long, cool growing season, the 2006 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir captures a more elegantly Burgundian expression of Pinot Noir than the 2005 vintage. In the bouquet, this cool-climate charm takes the form of bright, fresh and flirtatious cherry and strawberry flavors. These fetching aromas are echoed on the palate, where complex layers of mulled cherries, strawberries and raspberries intermingle with spicy cinnamon and clove elements.

Chenoweth Ranch – Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

2005 - Like several of our finest vineyards, Chenoweth Ranch was originally cultivated as an apple orchard. Planted on the far western edge of the Russian River appellation, this beautiful 7-acre vineyard is located in Green Valley, one of the region's coolest areas, and is farmed exclusively for Patz & Hall. One of the stars of the 2005 vintage, our Chenoweth Ranch — Russian River Pinot Noir offers classic Russian River red-fruit aromatics of cherry, strawberry and framboise liqueur. On the palate, these fetching high-tone aromas transform into pure varietal flavors of cranberry and ripe cherry. With plush tannins, good grip and bright acidity, this complex, concentrated wine will age beautifully.

Hyde Vineyard - Carneros Pinot Noir

2006 - Turning more towards the red-fruit spectrum of aromas and flavors than in previous vintages, the 2006 Hyde Vineyard Carneros Pinot Noir showcases layers of strawberry, cherry and cassis. To accentuate these vibrant qualities, the winemaking incorporated 20 percent whole clusters, which also contributed an exotic hint of cinnamon-clove spice. Alder Springs Vineyard - Mendocino Pinot Noir

2005 - Located on the high slopes of Chato Peak in northern Mendocino County at 2,100 feet above sea level, the Alder Springs Vineyard is owned by Stuart Bewley, who is dedicated to growing first-rate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Defined by its high elevation and low-vigor uplifted marine soils, Alder Springs Vineyard produces tiny vines with equally tiny clusters and berries. The 2005 Alder Springs Vineyard Mendocino Pinot Noir exudes deep, nuanced aromatics of coffee, cocoa, mulling spices, cola and cedar box. Whether in your glass over the course of an evening, or in your cellar, this muscular, age-worthy wine has immense transformative qualities, as its tightly woven earth and dark fruit layers emerge to reveal themselves.
