2011 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

With vibrant cranberry, cherry and Kirsch aromas, as well as enticing jammy spice notes, this is one of the most forward and open of our 2011 Pinots. It is also a classic expression of Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, with a sumptuous mouthfeel and moderate, fine-grained tannins. On the palate, the red fruit and spice notes continue, alongside hints of clove and fresh-tilled earth. Though not quite as tannic as the 2010 vintage, the acids are higher in 2011, adding a lovely brightness and lift to the fruit. The oak is completely integrated, and leads to a rich, coating finish.

“Good bright, full red. Pepper and spice notes lift rich aromas of cherry, cranberry, cola and earth. Smooth, lush and concentrated, with excellent breadth to its strong red fruit, spice and earth flavors. Conveys a light touch for such a plush pinot. Finishes with fine-grained, dusty tannins and surprising lift.” - Stephen Tanzer
