- Sonoma Coast
2017 Gap's Crown Vineyard Sonoma Coast Pinot NoirThis vineyard sits high on a rock strewn, windswept hill directly overlooking the Petaluma Gap, the coastal mountain feature that feeds the cool Pacific air into the Russian River basin. Usually the last vineyard we pick each year, and often the most tannic of our wines, the 2017 offering has a softer, less tannic and more resolved composition. Intense aromas of black cherry, citrus peel, dark cocoa along with hints of mushroom-forest floor intermingle and intertwine. Gap’s Crown Vineyard is a very longlived wine that rewards patient cellaring for many years to come.
2017 Hyde Vineyard Carneros ChardonnayClassic Hyde Vineyard traits of delicate white flowers, tangerine zest, honey, and cinnamon. Poised and energetic, this wine is citrus-driven with orange blossom, hints of yellow apple and warm pie crust weaving a complex nose.
2017 Moses Hall Vineyard Pinot NoirYear after year, this lovingly cultivated vineyard continues to evolve, yielding evermore complex wines. This site produces wines with a rare combination of savory and fruity aromas and flavors, a trait often associated with the finest Pinot Noirs. 2017 was a particularly good year for Moses-Hall, creating a savory wine with hints of green peppercorns, fine herbs, carnation flowers and fresh cedar shavings. The tannins are fine grained and there’s a pleasing spicy/fruity character on the palate. Cellaring this wine for a few years will further reveal this wine’s complexity.
- Russian River Valley
2017 Dutton Ranch Russian River Valley ChardonnayAromas of ginger, guava and Crème brûlée with toasted almond, and toffee-brown sugar. Dense, and full bodied, there’s a pleasingly crisp and mouthwatering green apple note on the palate that melds with dried apricot, tangerine flavors along with a hint of toasted oak.
